Vacuum With a Baby Wipe
Why do I vacuum with a baby wipe? No, it is not an impromptu white flag. A baby wipe is the perfect tool to remove stains from a carpet. We were blessed/cursed with a light colored carpet on the main floor. Usually the carpet is passable as clean except for when we get nasty stains from the grape vines or when the kids decide to eat outside the kitchen. Think mini chocolate chips ground into the carpet fibers. Solution? Grab the baby wipe and spot clean as you vacuum. When you finish the room, go back and revacuum the area that was treated. Of course nasty stains such as cola or wine that has set-in need something stronger.
I refuse to make the house socks only, especially for guests. This trick works for us. Want a deep clean or fresh smelling carpet? Spread baking soda, the cheap stuff, across the area. Wait 15 minutes then vacuum. I usually need to replace the vacuum bag after this because the dust is a bit much the next time the machine is turned on.

ReplyDeleteThis Busy Life, you might be surprised how many uses a baby wipe has for cleaning. My suggestion is to keep it in a ziploc bag so it does not dry out. Thanks for visiting.
