Crazyville is Ready for Summer.

Crazyville is all set for summer. The kids are almost out of school, their summer activity books have been purchased and the bucket list is complete.  The only thing putting a slight damper on our excitement is the weather.

Amazing Ann flies up to 1st grade tomorrow. Yippee!!  All of us are excited for her to move to the next level in her academic career.  Wild Regan is already talking about 4 year old preschool with Mrs. Weitland as her teacher. She adores this teacher to the point her every word and past encounters are relived in the car ride home.  Oh, if only Mrs. Weitland knew the power she holds in Wild Regan's world.

Last night at Costco I got each girl a summer activity book. The books are a review of what they learned this past year in school.  Ann only has 6 weeks off but she already put a small dent into the book this morning. Wild Regan wrote her name and did a connect the dots puzzle from her book.  Before her nap she was eyeing the second chapter.  Heavy lids prevented her from diving deeper into the book.  Revin Roger colored a blanket sheet of paper with a look of distain.  He is not even 2.  For a little guy he made his feelings known about not getting an activity book.  Shopping at Costco or the bookstore is in order, pronto.

This is our second summer with a bucket list.  Last year they did not understand the process and wanted to do all the activities that very moment, all while the list was being written.  Not fun.  This year they got the concept of a list.  They are excited to see what new adventures away them.  The 2013 Summer Bucket list includes:  a new zoo, lunch at a different park each week, a frozen dessert off the ice cream truck, a train ride, swim lessons and 22 other items.  The goal is to complete every item before August 31st.  Stay tuned for our adventures.  We did one thing this past week.  The kids learned how to build a fort out of blankets.  The basement is now fort central with no blanket spared.  There is one blanket that has a large hole in the center so it can be worn.  This blanket became the fort with a skylight for the General's quarters.  Gotta love kids ingenuity.

What is on your summer bucket list?
