Help Support the Wounded Warrior Project

Our neighbors, Mark and Connie, are organizing a Hockey-A-Thon to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project. The last Hockey-A-Thon raised over $14,000 and their goal is to raise $20,000 this year.

Wounded Warrior Project serves veterans and service members who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound, co-incident to their military service on or after September 11, 2001 and their families.  In addition to the physical wounds, it is estimated as many as 400,000 service members live with the invisible wounds of war including combat-related stress, major depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Another 320,000 are believed to have experienced a traumatic brain injury while on deployment.  Here is where you can help.

The Wounded Warrior Project:

Helps injured service members
Provides service members with unique‚ direct programs and services to meet their needs.
Empowers and honors wounded warriors
Eases the burdens of the wounded and their families while they recover and transition back to civilian life

Want to see how one donation impacts a warrior's life?  Spend some time here.

If you are able to help sponsor in this event, please visit the donation page, https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org/individual-fundraising/hockeybenefit2013.  You can also give me a check, made payable to Wounded Warrior Project, which I pass on to Mark and Connie.  Small donations add up, so consider donating even if only $10! Please make your donation by August 17, the day of the event.
