Makes Me Smile
Mathematically February is the shortest month of the year but on certain days it seemed like the longest month. This is sad since we are only weeks into a new year. Attribute this to a long winter stuffed with record snow fall and little sunshine. I could dwell on the dark days or turn an eye to things that are sure to brighten the sourest of faces.
A cup of coffee on top of a car going 45 miles per hour. The cup slid back and forth on the roof rack. Made for great entertainment driving down the road. Everyone forgets something - the question is what?
My husband and daughter's Indian Princess sled. There were 25 girls inside as this went down a hill. The rules stated it can only be made out of cardboard and glue. The dads built the structure while the girls help paint. Was there a bit of extra testosterone building it?
Amazing Ann"baked" something while I was working out. She used several ziplock bags, most of my spices and an entire can of corn meal. Guess no Polenta that night.
Amazing Ann's Valentine Day card to me. To decote 1st Grade spelling, "Mom, I love you more than my Barbies." I remembered this cute card when she wanted to bake again.
Guess what was in the mail? The spring flower catalog. Stay tuned for our annual spring seed adventures which include cranking up the heat, pigtails and lots of dirt on the kitchen table.
Next weekend Crazyville hosts the annual St. Patrick's Day dinner. (I will explain why the meal is so early next week.) Our small house somehow holds 22 people for a formal sit down dinner at one long table. Funny part? The people who are not Irish are more excited about the meal than the Irish Americans. Mary Ann and Patrick even bring us shamrocks from Ireland.
