What I want for Mother's Day

In my opinion Mother's Day falls into two categories. There are moms who truly want to hear/see their children on the day. They miss them dearly and most likely do not see their shining faces often. Most likely these moms have older children. The other group of moms just want a break from motherhood. A blissful day would be free from the whines and demands of the job. My guess is this group of moms have younger children.

I fall into the latter group since my kids are seven, four and two. There are days when a break from the demands of motherhood would be a blessing.

My ideal Mother's Day would extend to five days - this is a dream after all. Starts with hours of uninterrupted time preferably in a locked space. Followed by sleeping in a bed not made by me and  breakfast with a  cup of coffee not reheated several times in the microwave. The day would entail hiking though nature and not mounds of dirty laundry. Dinner by a gourmet chef and no competition for the TV remote. Followed up with a few nights at a fitness spa. Wait..... that was my vacation last week.

More details on my trip of Vegas and Utah next week.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms who birthed a child, adopted a child and women who opened up their arms to embrace someone who needed their love.
